I love pie charts, spreadsheets and using silly memes to illustrate my conceptual ideas.
I used to be a content marketer

After completing my Master's in Marketing Communication in the UK, I dove into the world of e-commerce and content marketing for around 6 years. During this time, I picked up some product design skills from my talented co-workers.

It struck me that while marketing makes products desirable for customers to spend money on, UX design makes products desirable for users to have a great experience while using them. I therefore, decided to make the switch to UX to challenge myself with a fresh perspective, a new approach, and a stronger focus on product functionality.

As a marketer turned UX designer, I want to blend my content marketing skills into product design, striving for optimal user experiences. Basically, my goal is to rescue you from 'brain freezes' when staring at text-filled or button-covered screens! :)

I worked as a product designer in the EdTech industry at ApplyBoard for over 4 years. My focus is on aiding international students in finding ideal study programs in other countries, a dream I once shared.

Currently I’m designing complex investment tools and wealth-management platforms at RBC GAM, where I spend a lot of time untangling data-heavy workflows for financial advisors and institutional teams. I work closely with PMs, engineers, and other designers to simplify everything from portfolio analysis to investment proposal workflows and bring those experiences through to implementation.

My average day as a product designer
EXPECTATION
Designing great UX for killer projects
Insightful design talks with co-workers
REALITY
Handling user dilemmas while minding business demands
Fixing design issues without irritating our devs
Endless team update meetings
Casually panicking with my coworker about being replaced by AI 🤖
When I’m not a 9-to-5 designer,
When I’m not a 9-to-5 designer,
You will find me casually wandering the grocery aisles, wondering if I should cook broccoli or broccolini today. Sometimes, when I'm sad, I stop being sad by teaching myself very random skills, like playing the kalimba, crocheting a blanket, parallel skiing, locating Mars in the night sky, and recently, performing a handstand underwater. The next adventure on my list is probably skydiving, to test my luck 🍀
